Google is developing a new feature for Android Auto that will allow Google Assistant to summarize your busy conversations and messages. The feature aims to prevent disruptions while driving by reading aloud only the most important messages, rather than every response in a group conversation. These message summaries will be generated by artificial intelligence (AI), although Google warns that there could be mistakes. The capability will be available in the Android Auto Settings, and it can be switched on or off
The feature was discovered in version 14.52 of the Google app, which is currently in beta. It is unclear when this feature will be officially launched. Google already offers similar summarization features in other products, but the closest comparison is in Google Chat, where it helps recap Spaces and catch users up on group conversations. The APK Insight teardowns, which reveal these upcoming features, benefit from the JEB Decompiler tool
