"Rising Fatality Toll: Two Additional Dengue Deaths in 24 Hours." Dec 28, 2023

In the last 24 hours, two more deaths have occurred due to dengue in Bangladesh, bringing the total fatalities from the disease this year to 1,701. The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported that during this period, 110 more patients have been admitted to hospitals with dengue. Currently, there are 867 dengue patients receiving treatment across the country, with 281 in the capital city of Dhaka. The DGHS has recorded a total of 320,945 dengue cases this year, out of which 318,377 have resulted in recoveries

September has proven to be the deadliest month for the dengue outbreak this year, with 396 fatalities and 79,598 cases reported so far, according to DGHS data. As the numbers continue to rise, authorities are stepping up efforts to combat the mosquito-borne disease. Various initiatives, such as mosquito control programs and public awareness campaigns, are being implemented to prevent further spread of the virus. Additionally, medical teams are working tirelessly to provide necessary treatment to the affected patients. The government is also taking measures to improve healthcare facilities and increase the capacity of hospitals to accommodate the growing number of dengue patients

However, with the increasing number of cases, there is a need for continued vigilance and collaboration between the government, healthcare professionals, and the public to effectively tackle this ongoing health crisis.
