Prasidh Krishna is set to make his Test debut, but all eyes are on Jasprit Bumrah and how he will perform. It's been a while since Bumrah played for India, with his last appearance in the 2023 World Cup final. Even South Africa legend Makhaya Ntini is excited to see him back in action. Ntini praises Bumrah's unique release and angle, which allows him to bring the ball back and straighten it after pitching
He also admires Bumrah's accuracy with yorkers, making him an integral part of the Indian team. Ntini, however, expresses his frustrations with South Africa's limited participation in Test matches, affecting the performance of their players like Kagiso Rabada. Rabada has achieved a commendable 285 wickets in his Test career, but it has taken him nine years to do so due to the lack of matches. He is currently the seventh-highest wicket-taker among South African pacers, trailing behind legendary bowlers like Jacques Kallis and Dale Steyn
Ntini questions the feasibility of Rabada reaching the 400-wicket milestone given the limited number of Test matches they play. He emphasizes the importance of prioritizing country over other commitments, citing Rabada's participation in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as an example. With South Africa only playing two Test matches a year, it becomes challenging for players like Rabada to reach such milestones. Ntini warns against the temptation of quick money in tournaments like the IPL, as it may hinder a player's long-term goals and career.
