LSU Equipment Staff Prepares for ReliaQuest Bowl against Wisconsin Baton Rouge, La. - While Santa Claus was taking a well-deserved break, the LSU equipment staff was hard at work, preparing for the upcoming ReliaQuest Bowl against Wisconsin. The team, led by director of football equipment Louis Bourgeois, spent several days ensuring that all the necessary gear was loaded onto two massive 18-wheelers. Bourgeois explained that his team follows a detailed list to keep track of equipment responsibilities. The process of preparing for the bowl game typically takes around three days, ensuring that everything is in order before the trucks depart. Remarkably, the trucks carrying the equipment were scheduled to arrive at the destination before the team itself
This careful planning ensures that the Tigers are fully prepared when they arrive in Florida. In addition to the equipment staff, a large number of other personnel are also preparing to make the trip to Florida. Greg Stringfellow, assistant athletics director of athletics equipment, noted that typically not all staff members travel to every game. However, for a bowl game like the ReliaQuest Bowl, the entire team is expected to travel. The LSU Tigers are aiming for back-to-back 10-win seasons, as head coach Brian Kelly aims to build on their previous successes. After a 5-5 record in 2020 and a 6-7 record in 2021, the team is determined to finish the season on a high note. The ReliaQuest Bowl is scheduled for New Year's Day in Florida, with an early kickoff time of 11 a.m
